About FootGolf
Taupo has always been a progressive club keen to embrace new ideas and we are proud to be one of the first clubs in New Zealand to welcome FootGolf.

Never heard of FootGolf? Then you’re in for a treat! It’s basically a combination of golf and football and is played on a course very similar to golf, but with bigger holes to accommodate the ball, which is a regulation size 5 soccer ball. The rules and basic aim is the same as golf too: play nine or 18 holes and get the ball in the hole in as few shots as possible!

FootGolf is said to be the fastest-growing new sport in the world, with up to 1,000 courses globally having already adopted it.

Our FootGolf layout is located on the front nine holes of the Tauhara Course. You can bring your own ball if you want, or we can supply one free of charge. Footwear should be comfortable – running shoes or trainers are ideal – but absolutely no cleats or studs are allowed.

The sport is fun, fast-paced and a test of skill. It’s also inexpensive and perfect for enjoying a friendly game with friends or family before unwinding with a drink in the clubhouse. Perhaps best of all, FootGolf is made for team events. Taupo runs a Business House League and if you’re waiting to enter the next league, get in some practice by challenging work-mates, suppliers or other departments. This new sporting craze is sure to be the talk of the workplace!
