Harcourts Matchplay Club Championships 2017

The highlight of the day was a hole in one (her first) on the 3rd hole on Centennial by Anne Graham. Unfortunately it was not enough to help her win her match. She was beaten 2&1 by Janine McCauley. It was Janine’s 19th win in the Silver division. The Ladies bronze 1 division was taken out by Jenny Cory over Cheryl Painter. The Ladies bronze 2 was won by Colleen Wade when she beat Fran Fuller. The 9 hole ladies winner was Pip Hull.

Jason McIntosh had a resounding victory over David Pearson to take out the Harcourt men’s Senior matchplay championship. In the Intermediate division Ron Edwards was cruising to victory over Ernie Oxnam. At one stage he was 6 up but Ernie fought back to be only 1 down. He could not keep up the pressure and Ron went on to win 3 up.The Junior title went to John Yates for the 5th time when he beat Peter Henderson 2&1. Tony Reardon won the men’s 9 hole competition.

All the other players not involved in the Champs played a 2 ball ambrose on Tauhara. Neil Hickman and Mark Tito won the tournament with a nett 59.5.  They were followed by Don Plaisted and Neil Malaney on 61.5.
